At an elevation of over 3,000 meters above sea level, most of the flowers found in Hehuanshan, are the false-gold-flower rhododendron (Rhododendron pseudochrysanthum Hayata) and Lapland Rosebay (Rhododendron lapponicum). The flowering season typically lasts from late April to June. The stunning scenic beauty of the high mountains has always been favored by anthophiles, photographers, and hikers. The vibrant red, pink, and white sea of flowers that bloom at the mountain peaks adds a burst of color to the landscape. Visitors can spot the rhododendron blossoms along the “Hehuan Group Peaks Trail.” If you persevere to the summit, you are afforded a panoramic view of the surrounding rhododendron-covered hillsides and winding roads below, with the breathtaking scenery stretches as far as the eye can see!
